Our Pastor
![]() Pastor G. T. Garnett III is the proud pastor of the St. Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. He hails from that flat plains of west Texas in the city of Midland, Tx. He was born November 3, 1985 to the parents of Pastor George T. Garnett II and Cynthia Garnett. Rev. Garnett is the product of the Midland Independent School District and graduated in 2004 with honors from Midland Senior High School. After High School, Rev. Garnett went on to study at the University of North Texas where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. While in school, Rev. Garnett met his beautiful wife Tamara, and they married two years later in 2008. They have four wonderful children, two girls and two boys! Rev. Garnett was raised in the church under the pastorate of his father, and received the Lord's gift of salvation in 1996 at 11 years of age. He received the Lord's call to preach the gospel in 2006, and preached his trial sermon on Father's day 2007. He received the call to pastor the Historic St. Emmanuel Baptist Church in August 2015. Pastor Garnett's ministry is best accurately described in Isiah 61:1-2, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek, he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." |
